Support for Sanford Impeachment Grows

South Carolina Republican Governor Mark Sanford is still in a political pickle following the disclosure of his affair with an Argentinian woman.

His wife has left him and taken the kids; his constituents have learned that he has traveled in style, often, at their expense; he's made personal purchases on the public dime, such as using the state's jet to go to a son's baseball game; and, according to all accounts, he's lost his "soul mate" on the side too.

What's a man to do?

Now a South Carolina lawmaker told CNN "that Republican legislators have assured him there are enough votes to start a bipartisan push for impeachment against Sanford when the legislative session begins in January."

In fact, several Republicans "are prepared to team up with Democrats to begin the impeachment process if Sanford doesn't resign or agree to a full-scale investigation into his travel expenses before the end of the year."
